SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
305 ILCS 5/12-4.7b-1 new

    Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that the Department of Human Services shall enter into an agreement with the Illinois State Police (ISP) to allow the Department's database of public aid recipients to cross-reference with ISP's database of outstanding criminal warrants. Further provides that public aid recipients who are found to have an outstanding criminal warrant shall be subject to an immediate suspension of their public aid benefits, including the immediate deactivation of their electronic benefits card or LINK card provided under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Exempts residents of nursing homes from the provisions of the amendatory Act.

1    AN ACT concerning public aid.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by
5adding Section 12-4.7b-1 as follows:
 
6    (305 ILCS 5/12-4.7b-1 new)
7    Sec. 12-4.7b-1. Criminal warrants database. The
8Department of Human Services shall enter into an agreement with
9the Illinois State Police (ISP) to allow the Department's
10database of public aid recipients to cross-reference with ISP's
11database of outstanding criminal warrants. Public aid
12recipients who are found to have an outstanding criminal
13warrant shall be subject to an immediate suspension of their
14public aid benefits, including the immediate deactivation of
15their electronic benefits card or LINK card provided under the

17nursing homes shall be exempt from the provisions of this
