1 HOUSE RESOLUTION

2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to congratulate the Calhoun High School
4 girls basketball team, the Lady Warriors, on winning the 2016
5 Class 1A State Championship; and

6     WHEREAS, The Lady Warriors defeated Central A&M High School
7 60 to 56 at Redbird Arena at Illinois State University in
8 Normal; and

9     WHEREAS, This was the second consecutive championship game
10 between the Lady Warriors and Central A&M; and

11     WHEREAS, The Lady Warriors are coached by Aaron Baalman;
12 and

13     WHEREAS, The Lady Warriors celebrated their victory by
14 riding through Hardin atop a Hardin fire truck and were
15 welcomed to a large community rally in the high school
16 gymnasium; therefore, be it

17     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
18 NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
19 congratulate the Calhoun High School girls basketball team, the
20 Lady Warriors, on winning the 2016 Class 1A State Championship;

1 and be it further

2     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
3 presented to the Lady Warriors as an expression of our esteem
4 and respect.
