HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to recognize Reverend Dr. Jimmy Hopper for his service to the First Presbyterian Church in Danville; and

WHEREAS, Rev. Hopper's church is known throughout the community as "The Church with a heart in the heart of the city"; and

WHEREAS, Rev. Hopper has been pastor at First Presbyterian Church for over 13 years, and in a broader sense, to the whole Danville community; and

WHEREAS, Rev. Hopper embodies his church's deep commitment to the well-being and spiritual growth of those he is called to serve; and

WHEREAS, Rev. Hopper has opened the doors of his church to various local groups and organizations with whom he works to improve the lives of those in the community and share the word of the Gospel; and

WHEREAS, Rev. Hopper finds serving as pastor presents extraordinary opportunities for personal and spiritual growth through his interactions with those he is privileged to serve; and

WHEREAS, Rev. Hopper has garnered both regional and national recognition for his service to his community; and

WHEREAS, Rev. Hopper's weekly messages of hope and faith have an immense impact on those seeking guidance and comfort; and

WHEREAS, Rev. Hopper's extensive pastoral services bring both hope and assurance to those seeking support; and

WHEREAS, Rev. Hopper's commitment to his adopted hometown serves as an inspiration to others; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize the dedicated service of Reverend Dr. Jimmy Hopper of the First Presbyterian Church in Danville and we wish him many more successful years; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Rev. Hopper as an expression of our esteem and respect.
