1 HOUSE RESOLUTION

2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to honor Robert Kapusta on the occasion of
4 his retirement from the Dolton Fire Department after 40 years
5 of dedicated service as a professional firefighter; and

6     WHEREAS, Robert Kapusta was born in Chicago on May 27,
7 1951; and

8     WHEREAS, Robert Kapusta faithfully served his country as a
9 member of the United States Army Reserve, Company A, 863rd
10 Engineers; and

11     WHEREAS, Robert Kapusta became a resident of the Village of
12 Dolton and joined the Dolton Fire Department as a volunteer
13 firefighter on March 21, 1974; and

14     WHEREAS, Robert Kapusta went through a rigorous testing
15 process and was hired as a professional firefighter for the
16 Village of Dolton; he assumed the position of Fire Engineer on
17 October 27, 1975; and

18     WHEREAS, Robert Kapusta was appointed to the position of
19 Deputy Fire Chief of the Dolton Fire Department, the first
20 person to hold that rank, in May of 1986; and

1     WHEREAS, Robert Kapusta was promoted to Chief of the Dolton
2 Fire Department on May 1, 1992; and

3     WHEREAS, Robert Kapusta was instrumental in bringing about
4 professional change to transform the Third District Fire
5 Association into the present day MABAS 24 and serving as the
6 Chairman of the Mutual Aid Committee; and

7     WHEREAS, Robert Kapusta returned to shift and re-assumed
8 the position of Engineer with the Dolton Fire Department on
9 April 30, 1997; and

10     WHEREAS Robert Kapusta is a member of the Dolton
11 Professional Firefighters Association, Illinois Association of
12 Firefighters Local 3766; and

13     WHEREAS, Robert Kapusta is retiring from the Dolton Fire
14 Department on May 31, 2016; therefore, be it

15     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
16 NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
17 honor Robert Kapusta for responding to a multitude of
18 emergencies, participating in saving lives, and protecting the
19 lives and properties of the citizens of the Village of Dolton;
20 and be it further

1     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2 presented to Robert Kapusta as an expression of our esteem and
3 respect.
