HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Ken Zaccard on the
4occasion of his retirement as Assistant Fire Chief of the
5Hanover Park Fire Department after 41 years of service; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Ken Zaccard started with the Hanover Park Fire
7Department on February 10, 1975 as a volunteer firefighter; he
8was later hired as one of the department's first paid, on-call
9firefighters; he received his paramedic license in 1977 and was
10one of the original paramedics for the department; he has
11maintained his license throughout his career; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Ken Zaccard was appointed as a full-time
13firefighter on June 1, 1982; he was promoted to the rank of
14Lieutenant in 1999 and to the rank of Battalion Chief in 2005;
15he subsequently worked his way through the ranks to become
16Assistant Fire Chief on March 15, 2007, where he served until
17his retirement; and
 
18    WHEREAS, During his tenure with the Hanover Park Fire
19Department, Ken Zaccard established and managed the FIREHOUSE
20Software record management system which is utilized by the
21Hanover Park Fire Department and the Hanover Park Police
22Department's Code Enforcement division; and

1    WHEREAS, Ken Zaccard and his loving wife, Diane, have one
2son, Michael; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Ken Zaccard serves as a model of hard work,
4integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of
5Illinois; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
7NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
8congratulate Ken Zaccard on the occasion of his retirement and
9wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be
10it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to Ken Zaccard as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
