HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Ken Zaccard on the occasion of his retirement as Assistant Fire Chief of the Hanover Park Fire Department after 41 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Ken Zaccard started with the Hanover Park Fire Department on February 10, 1975 as a volunteer firefighter; he was later hired as one of the department's first paid, on-call firefighters; he received his paramedic license in 1977 and was one of the original paramedics for the department; he has maintained his license throughout his career; and

WHEREAS, Ken Zaccard was appointed as a full-time firefighter on June 1, 1982; he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 1999 and to the rank of Battalion Chief in 2005; he subsequently worked his way through the ranks to become Assistant Fire Chief on March 15, 2007, where he served until his retirement; and

WHEREAS, During his tenure with the Hanover Park Fire Department, Ken Zaccard established and managed the FIREHOUSE Software record management system which is utilized by the Hanover Park Fire Department and the Hanover Park Police Department's Code Enforcement division; and

WHEREAS, Ken Zaccard and his loving wife, Diane, have one son, Michael; and

WHEREAS, Ken Zaccard serves as a model of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Ken Zaccard on the occasion of his retirement and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Ken Zaccard as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
