HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to honor Barbara Kramer for her dedication to teaching music to her students and for providing accompaniment to worship services; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Kramer was born on July 2, 1936 in Hannibal, Missouri, and grew up in Barry; she is a proud mother of two children, Rachel and Claire; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Kramer first studied piano in Quincy; she attended Lindenwood College in St. Charles, Missouri, where she completed her bachelor's degree in piano performance; she later earned her Master of Music in Piano Performance and received her music education degree; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Kramer has dedicated her life to sharing her passion for music with others; she has collaborated with many musicians and given hundreds of performances; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Kramer is passionate about sharing her musical talents with her faith community and has dedicated 40 years of her talent serving as Music Director at the First Congregational Church of Bunker Hill; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Kramer serves as a member of the faculty of Lewis & Clark Community College; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Kramer is a member of the American College of Musicians, the Music Teachers National Association, Mu Phi Epsilon, Linden Scroll, and Pi Kappa Lambda; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Kramer is a recipient of the Young Artist Award; and

WHEREAS, The First Congregational Church of Bunker Hill will honor Barbara Kramer for her work on July 10, 2016; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we honor Barbara Kramer for her dedication teaching music to her students and for providing accompaniment to worship services at the First Congregational Church of Bunker Hill; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Barbara Kramer as a symbol of our appreciation.
