HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the members of the Carmel Catholic Corsairs girls soccer team on the occasion of winning the 2015 IHSA Class 2A State Championship; and

WHEREAS, After defeating the Lemont Indians in the Class 2A semi-final, the Corsairs defeated the Chatham Glenwood Titans 1-0 to win the IHSA Class 2A Championship game at North Central College in Naperville on June 6, 2015; and

WHEREAS, The team finished its first season competing at the 2A level with a spectacular 21-4-3 record after many years of competing in Class 3A; prior to the 2-1 semi-final victory, the team outscored their first 5 postseason opponents by an outstanding 25-0; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Carmel Catholic Corsairs are Emma Kobitter, Erin Johnston, Alyssa Cepon, Grace Nolan, Abigail Potter, Mary Beth, Mandi Lasso, Jennifer Doyle, Madeline Lombardo, MacKenzie Sheehan, Kayla Handel, Lily Sykes, McKenzie Runyan, Megan Runyan, Lisa Harwardt, Sophia Sarkis, Angela Salvi, Christina O'Block, Haley Miller, and Rachel Bierman; the team's head coach is John Halloran; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Carmel Catholic Corsairs serve as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the members of the Carmel Catholic Corsairs girls soccer team on the occasion of winning the 2015 IHSA Class 2A State Championship and wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Carmel Catholic Corsairs girls soccer team as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
