SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Audrey Fleck Knight of Springfield, who
4passed away on August 1, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Audrey Knight was born in Springfield on December
619, 1927 to Frank and Anastasia Muller Fleck, Sr.; she married
7George W. Knight, Jr. on April 7, 1952; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Audrey Knight was the owner and operator of
9Knight's Action Park, the Splash Kingdom Water Park, and the
10Route 66 Drive-In Theater; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Audrey Knight was a member of the Church of the
12Little Flower; she was a neighborhood chairman for many years,
13head of the Little Flower Girl Scout Troops, and a previous
14member of the Springfield Association of Realtors; she enjoyed
15spending time with her family and friends; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Audrey Knight was preceded in death by her
17parents; her husband; her 4 sisters, Clara Dolenc, Marguerite
18Schmidt, Bernadine Haley, and Dorothy McCarty; and her brother,
19Frank "Bud" Fleck; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Audrey Knight is survived by her 3 children,

1George (Melissa Bird) W. Knight III, Douglas (Laura Blackorby)
2Knight, and Sheryl A. (Randy) Knight; her 7 grandchildren,
3George W. IV, Thomas A., Olivia H., Andrew D., Audrey E.,
4Natalie E., and Camille F.; her 2 sisters, Bertha Lederle and
5Lorraine Fleck; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be
6it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Audrey Fleck Knight, and extend our sincere condolences to her
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Audrey Knight as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
