SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Thomas Blenner, who passed away on December 3, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Blenner was born on September 9, 1951 in Libertyville; his parents were William and Lois (nee Fuller) Blenner; he married Peggy DeWane on May 8, 1982 in Woodstock; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Blenner was the president and owner of Blenner Insurance Agency in Arlington Heights; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Blenner was an active member of many professional organizations; he was also a member of Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church in Arlington Heights; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Blenner was an avid sports fan and a diehard Chicago Cubs fan; he also coached soccer, cross-country, and basketball at Marian Central Catholic High School in Woodstock, Our Lady of the Wayside School in Arlington Heights, the Arlington Heights Youth Basketball Association, and numerous club teams, including the Arlington Aces Travel Team, the Green White Travel Team, and the Northwest Basketball Association; he also served as the Assistant Varsity Girls Basketball Coach at Saint Viator High School in Arlington Heights; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Blenner was preceded in death by a daughter, Megan; his parents; a brother, Joseph Blenner; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bernard and Arlene DeWane; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Blenner is survived by his wife, Peggy; 2 daughters, Kelly Blenner and Jamie Blenner; 3 siblings, William (Nelva) Blenner, Susan (Edward Teter) Blenner, and Ann (Carson) Anderson; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Thomas Blenner; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Thomas Blenner as an expression of our sympathy.
