SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Rev. Bennett McNeal of Elburn, who passed away on September 27, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Rev. McNeal previously worked as a hospital administrator; he later received his master's degree in adult education from National Louis University and a master's degree in divinity from Chicago Theological Seminary; he taught English as a second language, citizenship, and family literacy classes at the College of DuPage, Harper College, and Morton College; and

WHEREAS, Rev. McNeal entered the seminary at the age of 51; he spent the last 3 years of his life as the Pastor of the Elburn Community Congregational United Church of Christ; and

WHEREAS, Rev. McNeal is survived by his wife, Andrea; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Rev. Bennett McNeal, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Rev. McNeal as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
