SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jack "Red" Anderson of Beach Park, who
4passed away on December 8, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jack Anderson was born in Waukegan on June 24,
61935 to Clarence and Hester Anderson; he attended Waukegan High
7School and Trinidad State College in Colorado, playing
8basketball at both places; he married Betty Satterfield in 1956
9and they settled in Gurnee; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Jack Anderson served the public for 40 years at
11the Lake County Courthouse; he started his public service
12career in the Treasurer's Office, where he worked hard to learn
13the ins and outs of the office, before being elected to serve
14as the Lake County Treasurer from 1978 to 1998; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Jack Anderson was a long-standing member of the
16Elks, Moose, and Shriners organizations; he loved spending time
17with friends and family, golfing, bowling, fishing, and playing
18cards; he loved everything about sports, from playing to
19coaching and watching his grandchildren play; he was an avid
20Chicago sports fan and loved watching the Chicago Bulls, Cubs,
21Bears, and Blackhawks; and

1    WHEREAS, Jack Anderson is survived by his wife, Betty
2"Babe"; his 4 children, Kurt (Heidi) Anderson, Chris (Cheryl)
3Anderson, Jack Anderson, and Jill (Bob) Szczerba; his 10
4grandchildren, Brooke Hooker, Candice (Brent) Reimholz, Ryan
5Anderson, Jordan (Katie) Anderson, Austin Anderson, Jake
6Anderson, Cody Anderson, Cole Anderson, Aaron Szczerba, and
7Colin Szczerba; and his 6 great-grandchildren, Clara, Juliet,
8and James Hooker, Will and Ellis Reimholz, and Autumn Szczerba;
9therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Jack "Red" Anderson, and extend our sincere condolences to his
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Jack Anderson as an expression of
17our deepest sympathy.
