SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Genevieve Edith Pfeiffer of Crystal Lake, who passed away on January 3, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Genevieve Pfeiffer was born in Lebanon, Indiana to Lloyd Thomas and Edith B. (nee Partner) Sicks on September 3, 1920; and

WHEREAS, Genevieve Pfeiffer was dedicated to many organizations, including the Northern Illinois Airstream Unit for 40 years and the Kishwaukee chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution; she was a 4-H leader and a long-time and active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church; she traveled to all 50 states and 6 continents and enjoyed playing cards and games with family and friends; and

WHEREAS, Genevieve Pfeiffer was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; her grandchildren, William Commons and Thorsten Fjellstedt; her great-grandchild, Steven Commons; and her sister, Major Mary Sicks; and

WHEREAS, Genevieve Pfeiffer is survived by her 6 daughters, Mary Lou (Jerry) Cristy, Patsy (the late John) Commons, Nancy (Thorsten) Fjellstedt, Dorothy (the late Warren) Derrick, Tommy Sue (Samuel) Stone, and Judy (John) Reichert; her grandchildren, Leeann (Steven) Slack, Sandra (Kevin) Kinahan, Steven (Carol) Commons, Jennifer (Shane Farstar) Ferris, Anders (Lyndsey) Fjellstedt, Gwendolyn Pertell, Carolyn (Sean) Hand, Nathan (Stacie) Stone, Eric (Amy) Stone, Gavin Stone, Rebecca (Erin) Aslakson, Zachery (Erin) Reichert, and Andrew (Kristen) Reichert; her 23 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Ernest (the late Irene) Sicks; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Genevieve Edith Pfeiffer, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Genevieve Pfeiffer as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
