SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of James J. Wasicak of McHenry, who passed away on April 8, 2016; and

WHEREAS, James Wasicak was born on April 12, 1931 in Chicago; his parents were Michael and Mary Wasicak; and

WHEREAS, James Wasicak was a United States Marine and served in Guam during the Korean War; and

WHEREAS, James Wasicak was a bricklayer early in his life and built several houses on the South Side of Chicago; he later took a job with the Chicago Water and Sewer Department, where he worked for 33 years until his retirement in 1973 at the age of 65; and

WHEREAS, Following his retirement, James Wasicak became active in the local Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and helped his local property owners with improvement projects; and

WHEREAS, James Wasicak enjoyed going out and meeting his friends at his favorite local establishments; and

WHEREAS, James Wasicak was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia; his parents; and his sisters, Mary Rach, Ann Babiacz, and Dolores Haydek; and

WHEREAS, James Wasicak is survived by his sons, James Wasicak, Tom Wasicak, Robert (Pam) Wasicak, and Tony (Candy) Wasicak; his grandchildren, Kyle, Joe, Terry, Clayton, Sage, Jennifer, Brian, Holly, and Anthony; and his sister, Helen Thomas; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of James J. Wasicak; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of James Wasicak as an expression of our sympathy.
