SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Elwanda Marie Ebel; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Elwanda Ebel was born on February 11, 1922 in
5Locke, Arkansas; her parents were Carl and Ethal Pilcher; she
6married Albert Ebel II on August 29, 1942; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Elwanda Ebel was not only her husband's helpmate
8on the farm for many years, she was very active in her church,
9community, and children's activities; she was a longtime member
10of the Marengo Grange, where she served as lecturer before
11moving and joining the Riley Grange; she held county and State
12offices, attended State Grange as a delegate, and served as
13Master's Wife at the county level; she never missed helping out
14at the turkey dinners, bake sales, and the county fair food
15tent; she and her family installed officers for the Granges
16around the state line for many years; she also worked at
17Wisted's Deli in Marengo and shared her wonderful recipes for
18potato salad and baked beans; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Elwanda Ebel was a wonderful cook and was able to
20bless people with her skills of cooking; she won many blue
21ribbons for her pies, breads, crocheted afghans, and sewing;
22and

1    WHEREAS, Elwanda Ebel served as a deaconess and on many
2boards at the First Baptist Church of Marengo; she was the
3"Egg-Fryer Queen" of the May Breakfast for many years; she was
4in charge of the Wednesday Night Family Dinner and never failed
5to produce a wonderful home-cooked meal for the crowd; she was
6a gifted cake decorator and made many brides and anniversary
7couples happy; she was also a "Tops" member for many years and
8became a "Kops" for 19 years; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Elwanda Ebel was preceded in death by her husband
10of 71 years, Albert, and her brothers, James, Robert, and Kurt
11Perryman; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Elwanda Ebel is survived by her son, Albert (Linda
13Kay) Ebel III; her daughters, Dorene (Milan) Reimer and Carla
14(Richard) Walter; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren;
15her sister, Winnie Evelyn Sullivan; her brother, Ralph
16Perryman; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
18ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
19family and friends, mourn the passing of Elwanda Marie Ebel;
20and be it further
 
21    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
