SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert G. Bayness of Rock Island, who passed away on June 3, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Robert Bayness was born to Joe and Grace Green Bayness on the family farm, south of Westgate, Iowa, on February 20, 1931; he graduated from Oelwein High School in Iowa in 1949 and moved to Rock Island in 1950; he served in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956; and

WHEREAS, Robert Bayness was a carpenter for the Bob Bower Construction Company for 13 years; he sold real estate for the Oakwood Realty Company for 25 years, retiring in December of 1996; he built Coachwood Condos in Rock Island; and

WHEREAS, Robert Bayness was a member of Two Rivers United Methodist Church in Rock Island; he enjoyed his 13 mission trips to different parts of the world; he also enjoyed going to the Rock Island Fitness Center, biking, running, and most of all, spending time with his family and friends; and

WHEREAS, Robert Bayness was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters; a brother; and a niece; and

WHEREAS, Robert Bayness is survived by his nephews, Bill (Pam) Ehm, Jim (Kay) Bashaw, Richard (Linda) Moritz, Jerry (Carolyn) Bayness, Roger (Cheryl) Bayness, and Denny (Linda) Bachman; and his nieces, Kay (Lew) Westcott and Joyce (Delmar) Stickfort; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Robert G. Bayness, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robert Bayness as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
