SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Bernard R. Gardner of Moline, who passed away on July 6, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Bernard Gardner was born in Moline to Howard and Thelma Jenkins Gardner on November 22, 1940; he married Doris A. Tank in East Moline on September 8, 1967; and

WHEREAS, Bernard Gardner served his country in the United States Air Force; and

WHEREAS, Bernard Gardner enjoyed woodworking and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan; and

WHEREAS, Bernard Gardner is survived by his wife, Doris; his daughter, Susan (Darrin) Johnson; his son, John "Jake" Gardner; and his grandchildren, Claire Johnson and Derek Johnson; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Bernard R. Gardner, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bernard Gardner as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
