SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jeffrey Robert Miller of Arlington Heights, who passed away on August 1, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Jeffrey Miller was born in Palos Park to Robert and Kathy Miller; he attended Sandburg High School and graduated with a business degree from the University of Illinois in 1987; he went on to earn a Master of Business Administration from Indiana University; and

WHEREAS, Jeffrey Miller was a third-generation owner of the family retail hardware business; he evolved it into an industrial supply mainstay in the greater O'Hare area; and

WHEREAS, Jeffrey Miller held numerous community volunteer roles, including President of the Prospect High School Athletic Booster Club; he coached youth football, basketball, baseball, and softball; he was a diehard Chicago Bears and Illini fan and held legendary tailgates; and

WHEREAS, Jeffrey Miller's face lit up when he talked about his kids and their accomplishments; he loved being a dad and he was their Superman; and

WHEREAS, Jeffrey Miller is survived by his children, Grant, Lauren, and Ben; his wife of 21 years, Michelle; his parents; his sisters, Sally (Jeff) Schumann and Linda (Dan) Walther; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jeffrey Robert Miller, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jeffrey Miller as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
