SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Charles H. Martin of East Moline, who passed away on September 4, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Charles Martin was born in Rock Island to Benjamin F. and Margaret M. Catterton Martin on January 31, 1932; he served as a drill sergeant in the United States Army; he also served in the National Guard; and

WHEREAS, Charles Martin worked as a grinder and forklift operator for John Deere, retiring in 1989; and

WHEREAS, Charles Martin was preceded in death by his parents; two spouses; his daughter, Velma; two brothers; and four sisters; and

WHEREAS, Charles Martin is survived by his daughters, Margaret "Vonnie" Lindstrom, and Mary Frances; his son, Charles "Rusty" Martin; his grandchildren, Aaron, Dawn, Danielle, Charles E., Jonathan, Anthoney, Susan, Rachel, Christina, Giselle, and Tristan; several great-grandchildren; his brother, Frank; and his sisters, Ida, Joan, Delores, and Georgia; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Charles H. Martin, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Charles Martin as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
