SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Karen Luster-Lockhart of Chicago, who passed away on October 3, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Karen Luster-Lockhart was born in Chicago to Stephen and Josie Luster on May 6, 1972; she received her elementary education from St. Sabina Academy in Chicago and graduated from Hirsch Metropolitan High School in 1990 as the valedictorian; she attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign; and

WHEREAS, Karen Luster-Lockhart worked as the Director of Marketing for her family business, Essations, Inc.; she later became a licensed esthetician, graduating from the Paul Mitchell Skin Academy; in June of 2015, she opened Heaven's Sanctuary; and

WHEREAS, Karen Luster-Lockhart married Isiah "Zeke" Lockhart on August 31, 2003; and

WHEREAS, Karen Luster-Lockhart is survived by her husband, Isiah; her children, Kyla and Isiah Jr.; her parents; her siblings, Stephanie (Brandon), Stephen, and Christal; her grandfather, Joe; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Karen Luster-Lockhart, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Karen Luster-Lockhart as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
