| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Tommy L. Palbitska of Waukegan, who | 4 | | passed away on October 11, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Tommy Palbitska was born in Cornell, Wisconsin to | 6 | | Louie and Theresa Palbitska on March 12, 1931; he served in the | 7 | | United States Air Force during the Korean War as a tail gunner, | 8 | | earning the National Defense Service Medal; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Tommy Palbitska retired from the Waukegan Post | 10 | | Office after 35 years of service; he delivered flowers for | 11 | | Larsen's Florist in Waukegan; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Tommy Palbitska was a member of First Presbyterian | 13 | | Church in Waukegan, where he served as an usher and a church | 14 | | trustee; he was a member of the Swedish Glee Club of Waukegan; | 15 | | he was active in the American Cancer Society Relay For Life | 16 | | from 2010 to 2013 and was a board member of the Postal Credit | 17 | | Union; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Tommy Palbitska was preceded in death by his wife, | 19 | | Juanita Palbitska; his brothers, Harold Sorenson, and Neva | 20 | | Cusimano; and his parents; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Tommy Palbitska is survived by his children, | 2 | | Pamela (Kenneth) Hassenplug, Randy Palbitska (Lynette | 3 | | Gilbert), Michael Palbitska, Katherine (Art) Goetz, and Lory | 4 | | (Doug) Adams; his grandchildren, Krista (John) McNamara, | 5 | | Ashley (Kenny) Knaus, Brendan Palbitska, Melissa Clark | 6 | | (Julio), John Adams, Brian (Alicia) Adams, and Steven Adams; | 7 | | his sisters-in-law, Dorothy Sorenson, and Ruby Hurlburt; and | 8 | | his brother-in-law, Don Hurlburt; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | Tommy L. Palbitska, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 12 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 13 | | further
