SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Hunter William Shodeen of Geneva, who passed away on September 10, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Hunter Shodeen was born in St. Charles to Craig and Pamela (Parker) Shodeen on December 8, 1989; he graduated from Geneva High School in 2008, where he excelled in many sports; he graduated from Northern Illinois University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science; and

WHEREAS, Hunter Shodeen began his career in Washington, D.C. as the Scandinavian Affairs Liaison for Congressman Randy Hultgren; he served as the Kane County Field Office Manager for Governor Bruce Rauner's campaign; most recently, he worked as Legislative Liaison for the Illinois Commerce Commission; and

WHEREAS, Hunter Shodeen made friends easily and loved spending time with his family; and

WHEREAS, Hunter Shodeen was preceded in death by his grandfather, William Parker; his uncle, Eric Shodeen; and "Cousin Mike"; and

WHEREAS, Hunter Shodeen is survived by his parents; his sister, Samantha (Nathan) Zoch; his nephews and nieces, Owen, Andrew, Marlowe, Maegan (Brian) Kinane, Seamus, and Ronan; his grandparents, Kent and Joan Shodeen, and Donald and Brunhilde Vogelsberg; and many other dear relatives and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Hunter William Shodeen, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Hunter Shodeen as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
