| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Hugh Arkell "Skeet" Bateman Jr. of | 4 | | Johnsburg, who passed away on November 25, 2016 at the age of | 5 | | 71; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Hugh Bateman was born in Evanston to Hugh A. and | 7 | | Dorothy (Stejskal) Bateman on July 29, 1945; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Hugh Bateman loved cooking, barbecuing, and | 9 | | hosting family get-togethers; he enjoyed restoring old cars, | 10 | | listening to a wide variety of music, drawing, whittling, and | 11 | | reading; he recently started traveling; he traveled to Brazil | 12 | | for the wedding of his exchange student son, Marcelo (Mohara) | 13 | | Lopes, and loved the Brazilian experience; he had a great sense | 14 | | of humor and a kind heart; he was willing to help everyone; his | 15 | | family was in awe of the fact that there seemed to be nothing | 16 | | he could not fix; his family meant everything to him; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Hugh Bateman was preceded in death by his mother, | 18 | | Dorothy; and his sister, Diane Cisco; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Hugh Bateman is survived by his children, Joel | 20 | | (Sarah) Bateman, Nicholas Bateman, Erik (Elizabeth) Bateman, | 21 | | and Christopher Bateman; his grandchildren, Benjamin and Jack; |

| 4 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 5 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | 6 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Hugh A. "Skeet" | 7 | | Bateman Jr., and extend our sincere condolences to his family, | 8 | | friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
| 9 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 10 | | presented to the family of Hugh Bateman as an expression of our | 11 | | deepest sympathy.
