SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Edward "Eddie" Pieroni of McHenry, who passed away on November 20, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Edward Pieroni was born in Chicago to Ernest and Theresa (Peccioli) Pieroni on December 13, 1924; he served in the United States Navy during World War II; and

WHEREAS, Edward Pieroni and his brothers, Ray and Junior, ran the family restaurant and bar, Bimbo's, for over 38 years; and

WHEREAS, Edward Pieroni was a lifetime member of VFW Post 4600, and a member of the Military Order of the Cootie of the US Rakkasan Pup Tent #79 in Woodstock; he was also a lifetime member of the American Legion #491; and

WHEREAS, Edward Pieroni was active with the Riverside Athletic Social Club, which raised and donated money for multiple charities; the Pieroni brothers were honored as parade marshals for the Annual Fiesta Days in McHenry; and

WHEREAS, Edward Pieroni was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 24 years, Janice (Justen) Pieroni; and his brothers, Raymond and Ernest "Junior" Pieroni; and

WHEREAS, Edward Pieroni is survived by his daughters, Patty Smith, Roxanne (Darrell) Koewler, and Mary Jean (Jay) Sanders; his grandchildren, Nolan Koewler, Claire, Jeffrey, and Rebecca Sanders; his great-grandchildren, Jessica and Kaitlynn Koewler; his sister, Diana (Chuck) Tonyan; and six nieces and five nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Edward "Eddie" Pieroni, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Edward Pieroni as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
