SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Phyllis M. Rimbey of Jacksonville, who passed away on January 7, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Phyllis Rimbey was born in Jerseyville to Omer and Leavetta (Taapkin) Erdman on February 28, 1929; she married Robert Flynn, and later, Clarence Rimbey; and

WHEREAS, Phyllis Rimbey was employed at the General Telephone Company as an operator for many years; and

WHEREAS, Phyllis Rimbey was an active member of the Jacksonville Emblem Club and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary; she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; she also enjoyed shopping and loved every cat she met; and

WHEREAS, Phyllis Rimbey was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert and Clarence, and her son, Rick Flynn; and

WHEREAS, Phyllis Rimbey is survived by her sons, Ed (Mary) Flynn, and Bill Flynn; her grandchildren, Leah (Jacob) Krueger, Patrick Flynn, Kevin Flynn, Erin Flynn, Heather (Brandon) Miller, Katie Flynn, and Tyler Flynn (Katie Semick); her great-grandchildren, Elise Krueger, and Taylor Miller; her sister, Ellyn Kay (Jim) Cope; several nieces and nephews; and her daughter-in-law, Teresa; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Phyllis M. Rimbey, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Phyllis Rimbey as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
