SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Donald Dorge of Lake Forest, who passed away on December 17, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Donald Dorge was born on September 28, 1926 and grew up in Chicago; he graduated from the University of Kansas; and

WHEREAS, Donald Dorge owned the Climate Control Corporation until retiring in the early 1980s; and

WHEREAS, Donald Dorge enjoyed golf, tennis, badminton, paddle tennis, bridge, and spending time with family and friends; he also enjoyed traveling and escaping to Florida in the winter; and

WHEREAS, Donald Dorge was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Bette, and his daughters, Carol (Michael Coan) and Kim; and

WHEREAS, Donald Dorge is survived by his daughters, Pam (George) Russell, and Pat (Dick) Schmidt; his grandchildren, Matt, Eric, Marshall, Charles, and Catherine; and his sister, Dorothy Knitter; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Donald Dorge, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Donald Dorge as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
