SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert Waldo "Bob" Frantz of Huntley, who passed away on November 14, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Bob Frantz was born in Kansas City, Missouri on August 5, 1926 to Olna and Leita (nee Rhoads) Frantz; he married Ruth in 1949 in Kansas City, Missouri; he served in the United States Army; and

WHEREAS, Bob Frantz worked for Motorola in microwave communications; he was a Roselle board member and was elected Mayor of Roselle in 1969; later, he was employed by Santa Fe Railroad and MCI; and

WHEREAS, Bob Frantz had a longtime passion for private flying and owned 7 different airplanes at various times, most recently a Piper Arrow 6398C; he was proud to have received the FAA Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award in 2013; his flying career included over 7,500 hours and Private, Commercial, Instrument, Seaplane, Multiengine, and ATP ratings; he flew all over the United States and to many other countries; he enjoyed long time active membership in the Northeast Pilots Association, the Illinois Pilots Association, and the United States Pilots Association; and

WHEREAS, Bob Frantz was preceded in death by his son, Randall David Frantz, and his sisters, Mildred deVries, Dorothy (Joseph) Hawkins, and Marilyn Burke; and

WHEREAS, Bob Frantz is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ruth Ellen (Ellis) Frantz; his children, Margaret Gail (Chuck) Elmer, Robert Gregory Frantz, and Shirley Jean Frantz; his grandchildren, Matthias Elmer, Theodore Elmer, and Christopher Elmer; his brother-in-law, Albert (Donna) Ellis; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Robert Waldo "Bob" Frantz, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bob Frantz as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
