SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Lester E. "Bud" Rasmussen of Crystal Lake, who passed away on February 7, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Lester Rasmussen was born in Crystal Lake on December 7, 1922 to Elmer and Emma Rasmussen; he served in the United States Army during World War II and married Blanche Bein on October 31, 1953; and

WHEREAS, Lester Rasmussen enjoyed playing cards and going to casinos; he was an avid Chicago Bears and Bulls fan; he also enjoyed golf and loved sweets, especially cookies; and

WHEREAS, Lester Rasmussen was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Lester Rasmussen is survived by his wife of 61 years, Blanche; his son, Tim; his daughters, Myra (Larry) Buettner and Cindy (Jack) Bittner; his sister, Pauline McMorrow; his 3 grandchildren, Joe Buettner, Kristen (Collin) Jeanquart, and Michael Buettner; and his 2 great-grandchildren, Kenzie and Carter Jeanquart; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Lester E. "Bud" Rasmussen, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Lester Rasmussen as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
