SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Sherry Murray Coleman of North Chicago, who passed away on April 8, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Sherry Coleman was born in Chicago to Leonard, Sr. and Ruth Murff; she was educated in Chicago public schools and attended the College of Lake County; and

WHEREAS, Sherry Coleman retired from Searle Pharmaceuticals as an administrative assistant; and

WHEREAS, Sherry Coleman was a member of Sign of the Dove Church; she served on the S.O.D. Advisory Council and as a member of School Board #187; she worked alongside Mayor Leon Rockingham, Patricia Jones, and the late Senator Eddie Washington on the Coalition to Reduce Recidivism; and

WHEREAS, Sherry Coleman is survived by her husband, Ronald Coleman; her son, Sean Dawson Murray; her grandson, Jaiden Dawson; and her siblings, Leonard Murff, Jr., Denise Murff-Butler, and Latriese Murff-Guyton(Waverly); therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Sherry Murray Coleman, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Sherry Coleman as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
