SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Arthur R. "Reggie" Rouse, who passed away on May 5, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Arthur Rouse was born on February 10, 1947 in Carlinville; his parents were Woody and Carmen (nee Neher) Rouse; he married Carlene Mitch on May 27, 1966 at the Mitch residence in Hettick; and

WHEREAS, Arthur Rouse served in the United States Navy during Vietnam from 1965 to 1969; and

WHEREAS, Arthur Rouse graduated from Northwestern High School with the Class of 1965; he later received his Associate's Degree in Agriculture from Lincoln Land Community College; and

WHEREAS, Arthur Rouse was a coal miner; he worked for the Freeman United Crown II mine in Virden as an electrical repairman for many years until his retirement in 2002; he worked as a Ranger for the Abraham Lincoln Council at Camp Bunn for 30 years and helped his family and friends farm; he was also a trustee and former Road Commissioner for Barr Township and was active with the Hettick Fire Department and Community Club; and

WHEREAS, Arthur Rouse was a member of the Palmyra American Legion Post #1034; and

WHEREAS, Arthur Rouse enjoyed his grandchildren and their activities, as well as golfing and fishing; and

WHEREAS, Arthur Rouse was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Arthur Rouse is survived by his wife, Carlene Rouse; a daughter, Christine (Steve) Hendrickson; a son, Jon (Stacey) Rouse; 6 grandchildren, Tyler, Taylor, and Tess Hendrickson and Riley, Jack, and Sophie Rouse; 3 brothers, Ted (Susan) Rouse, Rodney (Kathy) Rouse, and Eric Rouse; a sister, Marilyn (Larry) Lane; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved pets, Scooter and Susie; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Arthur R. "Reggie" Rouse; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Arthur Rouse as an expression of our sympathy.
