SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Thomas A. Thiel of Johnsburg, who passed away on May 23, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Thiel was born in Johnsburg on August 11, 1937 to Jacob and Melania A. (nee Miller) Thiel; he served in the United States Army, stationed in Alaska; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Thiel was employed as a carpenter and estimator for R&D Thiel, Inc. until his retirement in 1993; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Thiel was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg, the Johnsburg Community Club, and McHenry Moose Lodge 691; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Thiel was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Harold Thiel; and his 2 sisters, Dolores (Donald) Babarsky and Joyce (Ronald) Callahan; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Thiel is survived by his siblings, Robert (the late Cleta) Thiel, Donald (Judith) Thiel, Gerald (Kathleen) Thiel, Allan (Judith) Thiel, and Sharon (John Wirfs) Dust, and his godchildren, Jeffrey (Stacey) Callahan, Judith (Chuck) Guliuzzo, and Christopher Sossong; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Thomas A. Thiel, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Thomas Thiel as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
