SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Lois R. Norgard of Hebron, who passed
4away on June 28, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lois Norgard was born on May 12, 1920 in
6Woodstock; her parents were Elmer and Olive (nee Fink)
7Bottlemy; she married Lawrence Norgard on August 31, 1940 in
8Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Lois Norgard graduated from Alden High School in
101938; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Lois Norgard worked as a salesclerk at Ace
12Hardware in Woodstock for 15 years; she was also an apprentice
13pharmacist at various Hebron and Woodstock drug stores; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Lois Norgard was a member of St. John's Lutheran
15Church in Hebron, where she served as a Sunday school teacher
16for 20 years and was active in the Lutheran Ladies Aid; she was
17a member of the Merry-Go-Round Club, the Afternoon Social Club,
18the Hebron Service Club, the Home Bureau; she attended McHenry
19County sports events and attended all of her grandson's sport
20activities; she also planned and hosted Fourth of July picnics
21for family and friends at her home for over 40 years; and

1    WHEREAS, Lois Norgard was preceded by her husband,
2Lawrence; a son, Larry Norgard; a sister, Frances Behrens; and
33 brothers, Harold, Elmer, Jr., and Warren Bottlemy; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Lois Norgard is survived by a daughter, Judy
5Hilton; a son, Barry Norgard; 4 grandsons, Michael Hilton,
6Edward (Gwen) Hilton, Todd (Marla) Norgard, and Mathew Norgard;
77 great-grandchildren, Jared, Brooklyn, Jordan, Alexandria,
8Maxwell, Kirill, and Alexandra; and a sister, Grace Wissell;
9therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
12family and friends, mourn the passing of Lois R. Norgard; and
13be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Lois Norgard as an expression of our
16sympathy.
