SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Donald McMullen, who passed away on August 1, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Donald McMullen was born in 1945 in Detroit, Michigan to Leo and Dorothy McMullen; he graduated from Bellevue High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1963, where he was a star receiver on the Bulldogs varsity football team; he entered the United States Air Force in 1964 and served in Vietnam; he was discharged as a Sergeant in 1970; and

WHEREAS, Donald McMullen moved to Chicago following his service and began working in the food industry; and

WHEREAS, Donald McMullen was an active and dedicated member of the American Legion, serving as Commander from 2005 to 2010; he was involved with improving the lakes and the lives in the Village of Lake in the Hills; and

WHEREAS, Donald McMullen was affectionately know as "Don", "Donnie", and "McPick"; and

WHEREAS, Donald McMullen is survived by his daughters, Denise McMullen and Dena (Marc) Muffoletto; his grandchildren, Donovan McMullen and Elliot and Aiden Muffoletto; his brother, David McMullen; and his ex-wife and friend, Deborah McMullen; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Donald McMullen, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Donald McMullen as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
