SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Joe "Patrick" Casillas of Moline, who passed away on August 29, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Joe Casillas was born on March 17, 1930 in Moline; his parents were Ignacio and Leonore (nee Martinez) Casillas; he married Elena Oliva on December 30, 1961; and

WHEREAS, Joe Casillas served his country as a member of the United States Army; and

WHEREAS, Joe Casillas was employed at John Deere Harvester Works for 39 years until his retirement in 1987; and

WHEREAS, Joe Casillas is survived by his wife, Elena; 5 children, Steve Casillas, Cindi Casillas, Rodney Casillas, Joseph Casillas, and Sharon Casillas; 5 grandchildren, Christine Cook, Johnathan Casillas, Alan Cook, Kory Armstrong, and Kaylie Bouerman; a great-granddaughter, Hailee Casillas; a sister, Tina Medina; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Joe "Patrick" Casillas; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Joe Casillas as an expression of our sympathy.
