SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
20 ILCS 415/8b.8  from Ch. 127, par. 63b108b.8
20 ILCS 415/8b.9  from Ch. 127, par. 63b108b.9

    Amends the Personnel Code. Provides that emergency appointments may be renewed if the renewal is authorized by the Director of Central Management Services. Provides that temporary appointments may be filled for more than 6 months if authorized by the Director of Central Management Services.

1    AN ACT concerning State government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Personnel Code is amended by changing
5Sections 8b.8 and 8b.9 as follows:
 
6    (20 ILCS 415/8b.8)  (from Ch. 127, par. 63b108b.8)
7    Sec. 8b.8. For emergency appointments to any positions in
8the State service for a period not to exceed 60 days, to meet
9emergency situations. Emergency appointments may be made
10without regard to eligible lists but may not be renewed unless
11otherwise authorized by the Director of Central Management
12Services. Notice of such appointments and terminations shall be
13reported simultaneously to the Director of Central Management
14Services.
