SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

70 ILCS 1205/8-1.3 new
70 ILCS 1505/26.3-3 new

Amends the Park District Code and the Chicago Park District Act. Provides that a park district shall not charge individuals residing inside the corporate boundaries of the park district any fees (i) for any park district program, except for summer programs, or (ii) for use of park district facilities.

AN ACT concerning local government.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Park District Code is amended by adding Section 8-1.3 as follows:

(70 ILCS 1205/8-1.3 new)

Sec. 8-1.3. Resident fees. Notwithstanding any other provision in this Code, a park district shall not charge individuals residing inside the corporate boundaries of the park district any fees (i) for any park district program, except for summer programs, or (ii) for use of park district facilities.

Section 10. The Chicago Park District Act is amended by adding Section 26.3-3 as follows:

(70 ILCS 1505/26.3-3 new)

Sec. 26.3-3. Resident fees. Notwithstanding any other provision in this Act, the commissioners of the Chicago Park District shall not charge individuals residing inside the corporate boundaries of the Chicago Park District any fees (i) for any Chicago Park District program, except for summer programs, or (ii) for use of Chicago Park District facilities.
