SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

750 ILCS 5/603.11 new

Amends the Illinois Marriage and Dissolution of Marriage Act. Provides that in proceedings involving the allocation of parental responsibilities, if there is an allegation of drug abuse made against a parent, the court shall order drug testing of the parent before issuing a final allocation judgment.

AN ACT concerning civil law.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Illinois Marriage and Dissolution of Marriage Act is amended by adding Section 603.11 as follows:

(750 ILCS 5/603.11 new)

Sec. 603.11. Allegations of parental drug use. In proceedings involving the allocation of parental responsibilities, if there is an allegation of drug abuse made against a parent, the court shall order drug testing of the parent before issuing a final allocation judgment.
