SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

20 ILCS 2505/2505-805 new

Amends the Department of Revenue Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that, subject to appropriation, the Department shall establish a rebate program for the purchase of emissions-free electric motorcycles in the State. Provides that the rebate amount shall not exceed $900 per motorcycle. Effective July 1, 2018.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Department of Revenue Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by adding Section 2505-805 as follows:

Sec. 2505-805. Emissions-free electric motorcycle rebate program. Subject to appropriation, on and after July 1, 2018, the Department shall establish a rebate program for the purchase of emissions-free electric motorcycles in the State. The rebate amount shall not exceed $900 per motorcycle. The Department may adopt rules for the purpose of administering the program under this Section.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, 2018.
