SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
70 ILCS 705/16e new

    Amends the Fire Protection District. Provides that on January 1, 2020, the territory of the Bloomingdale Fire Protection District 1 within the Village of Hanover Park is disconnected from the Bloomingdale Fire Protection District 1 if the mayor of the Village of Hanover Park signs a certification authorizing the disconnection and the clerk of the Village of Hanover Park transmits, on or before December 31, 2019, a certified copy of the certification to the county clerk of DuPage County and to the Office of the State Fire Marshal. Provides that if the territory is disconnected, then, beginning January 1, 2020, the Village of Hanover Park must provide fire protection services to the disconnected territory, and the territory disconnected remains liable for its proportional share of any outstanding bonded indebtedness of the Bloomingdale Fire Protection District 1.

1    AN ACT concerning local government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Fire Protection District Act is amended by
5adding Section 16e as follows:
 
6    (70 ILCS 705/16e new)
7    Sec. 16e. Disconnection of Bloomingdale Fire Protection
8District 1 from the Village of Hanover Park.
9    (a) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, on January
101, 2020, the territory of the Bloomingdale Fire Protection
11District 1 within the Village of Hanover Park is disconnected
12from the Bloomingdale Fire Protection District 1 if the mayor
13of the Village of Hanover Park signs a certification
14authorizing the disconnection and the clerk of the Village of
15Hanover Park transmits, on or before December 31, 2019, a
16certified copy of the certification to the county clerk of
17DuPage County and to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
18    (b) If the territory is disconnected as provided under
19subsection (a), then, beginning January 1, 2020, the Village of
20Hanover Park must provide fire protection services to the
21disconnected territory, and the territory disconnected remains
22liable for its proportional share of any outstanding bonded
23indebtedness of the Bloomingdale Fire Protection District 1.
