HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the Cary-Grove High School football team, the Trojans, on winning the 2018 Illinois High School Association Class 6A State Football Championship; and

WHEREAS, In the past ten seasons, from 2009 to 2018, the Trojans have played in the Class 6A statewide championship game four times; and

WHEREAS, Playing at the University of Illinois' Memorial Stadium, the Trojans defeated Crete-Monee High School for the statewide Class 6A championship on November 24, 2018, notching a dominating performance with a final score of 35 to 13; and

WHEREAS, In a championship-game drive which chewed up much of the third quarter and a piece of the fourth quarter, the Trojans consumed 11:19 minutes of clock time, covering 90 yards in 20 plays to maintain their lead and dishearten their opponents; the entire offense joined in the drive, a powerful demonstration of team play; and

WHEREAS, The Trojans are led by Head Coach Brad Seaburg and senior quarterback Ben McDonald; and

WHEREAS, The Trojans have added new hardware to their trophy case; the new honor will join the Class 6A championship trophy they won in 2009; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Cary-Grove High School football team, the Trojans, on winning the 2018 Illinois High School Association Class 6A State Football Championship; and be it further

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be presented to Coach Seaburg and the Trojans as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
