1 HOUSE RESOLUTION

2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to recognize the 40th anniversary of
4 Friendship Village in Schaumburg opening its doors to
5 residents; and

6     WHEREAS, Friendship Village is a Continuing Care
7 Retirement Community dedicated to providing adults age 62 and
8 older with living options aimed at promoting good health and
9 interesting, fulfilling lifestyles; and

10     WHEREAS, Friendship Village was founded in January of 1974
11 and began welcoming residents three years later on January 17,
12 1977; and

13     WHEREAS, In 1987, Friendship Village became the first
14 Continuing Care Retirement Community in Illinois to be
15 accredited by the Continuing Care Accreditation Commission; in
16 2013, it earned its fifth five-year re-accreditation; and

17     WHEREAS, Friendship Village has been recognized with
18 numerous prestigious awards for the quality of its programs and
19 amenities, for its landscaping, and for its community service;
20 and

1     WHEREAS, Friendship Village was the recipient of the "2013
2 Reader's Choice Award" by the Daily Herald for Best
3 Retirement/Assisted Living Community; therefore, be it

4     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
5 HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
6 recognize the 40th anniversary of Friendship Village in
7 Schaumburg opening its doors to residents and we wish them many
8 more successful years; and be it further

9     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10 presented to Friendship Village as an expression of our esteem
11 and respect.
