HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Geneva High
4School girls varsity basketball team, the Vikings, on winning
5the 2017 Illinois High School Association Class 4A State Girls
6Basketball Championship; and
 
7    WHEREAS, The Vikings faced off against the Edwardsville
8High School Tigers in the Class 4A State Final at Redbird Arena
9on the campus of Illinois State University on March 4, 2017, to
10capture their first 4A State Championship in school history;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, The Vikings defeated Fremd High School by a score
13of 34 to 33 in a thrilling Class 4A State Semifinal at Redbird
14Arena on March 3, 2017; and
 
15    WHEREAS, The Vikings are coached by Head Coach Sarah
16Meadows, and Assistant Coach Lindsey Huettemann; and
 
17    WHEREAS, The Vikings team members include Anna Burke, Emily
18Uplegger, Grace Loberg, Maddy Yelle, Kyla Chenier, Anilise
19Bragg, Brittany Caskey, Lexie Moore, Briana Borkowicz,
20Margaret Whitley, Kirstin Ralston, Lindsay Blackmore, Madison
21Mallory, Emma Harkleroad, Stephanie Hart, and Team Managers,

1Eliza Peters, and Emma Miles; and
 
2    WHEREAS, The Vikings serve as role models of hard work,
3integrity, and dedication for the community of Geneva, and the
4entire State of Illinois; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
6HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
7congratulate the Geneva High School girls varsity basketball
8team, the Vikings, on winning the 2017 Illinois High School
9Association Class 4A State Girls Basketball Championship, and
10we wish them many more successful seasons; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
12presented to the Vikings as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
