HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the Johns Hill Magnet School eighth grade boys basketball team, the Eagles, on winning the 2017 Illinois Elementary School Association Class 2A State Championship; and

WHEREAS, The Eagles defeated Jesse White Learning Academy by a score of 75 to 55 to claim the championship; and

WHEREAS, This was the first trip ever to the State Tournament for the Eagles; and

WHEREAS, The Eagles compiled a season record of 24 wins and zero losses; and

WHEREAS, The Eagles are coached by Head Coach Jason Flournoy and Assistant Coach Wallace Green; and

WHEREAS, The Eagles are Aaron Dabner, Jabryn Anderson, Dekglen DeJaynes, Brylan Phillips, Jayvion Grier, Savion Hill, Carl Dickerson, Nicholaus Spannaus, Ryan Bartley, and Rodney Walker Jr.; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Johns Hill Magnet School eighth grade boys basketball team, the Eagles, on winning the 2017 Illinois Elementary School Association Class 2A State Championship, and we wish them many more successful years; and be it further

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be presented to the Eagles as an expression of our esteem and respect.
