HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to recognize the 50th anniversary of the
4founding of the Streamwood Woman's Club; and
 
5    WHEREAS, The Streamwood Woman's Club began in April of 1967
6when 10 women signed the original charter of what was then
7called the Streamwood Junior Woman's Club; and
 
8    WHEREAS, The Streamwood Woman's Club was formed as a not
9for profit philanthropic organization promoting community
10service through education, and charitable and civic endeavors;
11it still holds those same goals today; and
 
12    WHEREAS, The Streamwood Woman's Club is organized into six
13departments: membership, fundraising, education, social,
14government and community affairs, and health and safety; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Funds raised by the Streamwood Woman's Club go to
16organizations such as the Hanover Township Food Pantry, the
17American Heart Association, the Children's Research
18Foundation, Alexian Brothers Health System Women and Infant
19Services, Canine Companions, the American Diabetes
20Association, the Lupus Foundation, WINGS, the Community Crisis
21Center, the Poplar Creek Library, DARE, the Streamwood Park

1District, scholarships for graduating high school seniors, the
2American Red Cross, the Elgin Pregnancy Center, NAMI, and many
3others; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
5HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
6recognize the 50th anniversary of the founding of the
7Streamwood Woman's Club and we wish them many more successful
8years; and be it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the Streamwood Woman's Club as an expression of
11our esteem and respect.
