HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to recognize Louise Noren on 65 years of volunteer service to Taylorville Memorial Hospital; and

WHEREAS, Louise Noren has been volunteering at Taylorville Memorial Hospital since it first started accepting volunteers in the early 1950s when it was known as St. Vincent Memorial Hospital; and

WHEREAS, Louise Noren began at Taylorville Memorial Hospital in the coffee shop where she was put in charge of the candy stripers; since then, she has volunteered in several positions, including serving as an officer of the hospital auxiliary since 2001; she continues to volunteer in the hospital auxiliary two days a week; and

WHEREAS, Louise Noren is a strong supporter of the Sisters of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ; she is often thinking of how she can help and support others and one of the ways that she does this is by giving Saint Teresa medals to those she feels could use them; to date, she has given away 186 medals in hopes that it will bring some comfort; and

WHEREAS, Louise Noren first moved to Taylorville in 1949; she has three children, two sons and a daughter, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one of her sons is a nurse in Hawaii and she has been able to visit him 13 times; and

WHEREAS, At the age of 88, Louise Noren does not appear to be slowing down at all; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize Louise Noren on 65 years of volunteer service to Taylorville Memorial Hospital and we thank her for her service to her community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Louise Noren as an expression of our esteem and respect.
