HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to recognize Louise Noren on 65 years of
4volunteer service to Taylorville Memorial Hospital; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Louise Noren has been volunteering at Taylorville
6Memorial Hospital since it first started accepting volunteers
7in the early 1950s when it was known as St. Vincent Memorial
8Hospital; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Louise Noren began at Taylorville Memorial
10Hospital in the coffee shop where she was put in charge of the
11candy stripers; since then, she has volunteered in several
12positions, including serving as an officer of the hospital
13auxiliary since 2001; she continues to volunteer in the
14hospital auxiliary two days a week; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Louise Noren is a strong supporter of the Sisters
16of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ; she is often thinking of
17how she can help and support others and one of the ways that
18she does this is by giving Saint Teresa medals to those she
19feels could use them; to date, she has given away 186 medals in
20hopes that it will bring some comfort; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Louise Noren first moved to Taylorville in 1949;

1she has three children, two sons and a daughter, and many
2grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one of her sons is a
3nurse in Hawaii and she has been able to visit him 13 times;
4and
 
5    WHEREAS, At the age of 88, Louise Noren does not appear to
6be slowing down at all; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
8HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
9recognize Louise Noren on 65 years of volunteer service to
10Taylorville Memorial Hospital and we thank her for her service
11to her community; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to Louise Noren as an expression of our esteem and
14respect.
