HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Master Richard Keiss, owner and operator of Draco Martial Arts Academy, on 20 years in business; and

WHEREAS, Master Keiss has always had a passion for martial arts; it began at a young age when he would read books on the subject and practice moves with his older sister for "fun"; and

WHEREAS, After serving in the military, Master Keiss began training under Korean Grand Master I.S. Kim; at the age of 32, after over three years of practice, he earned his black belt; and

WHEREAS, Master Keiss opened the first Draco Martial Arts Academy in 1997 in Homewood; soon after, he opened his second school in Dyer, Indiana; over the years, Draco Martial Arts Academy has produced many state champions, Masters, and teachers; and

WHEREAS, Master Keiss is dedicated to sharing his self-taught ethics and values to his students; he has made a positive difference in the lives of over 2,000 children, adolescents, and adult students since opening the doors of his school; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Master Richard Keiss, owner and operator of Draco Martial Arts Academy, on 20 years in business, and we wish him many more successful years; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Master Keiss as an expression of our esteem and respect.
