HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to recognize Jacob Kollman of Winchester for rasing money to help send veterans to Washington, D.C. on the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight; and

WHEREAS, Jacob Kollman, a fifth-grader at Winchester Elementary School, remarked to his mother, Cathy, that he wanted to do something to help veterans to take part in the Honor Flight program; and

WHEREAS, Jacob Kollman and his mother constructed rabbits out of wash cloths and flowers and sold them to raise money; and

WHEREAS, Jacob Kollman and his mother originally made 50 bunnies with a goal of raising $500; they ended up making over 700 bunnies and raising over $2,000; and

WHEREAS, Jacob Kollman wanted to do something to let veterans know that he supports them, and his efforts will help three to four veterans take part in the Honor Flight program; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize Jacob Kollman for rasing money to help send veterans to Washington, D.C. on the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight on May 23, 2017; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Jacob Kollman as an expression of our esteem and respect.
