| | 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | | 3 | | Representatives would like
to recognize Andre Iguodala and the | | 4 | | Golden State Warriors on
winning the 2017 NBA championship; and
| | 5 | | WHEREAS, Andre Iguodala, a native of Springfield, played | | 6 | | basketball at Lanphier High School; during his time at
| | 7 | | Lanphier, he won All-Conference academic honors and was the
| | 8 | | Chicago Sun-Times Player of the Year in 2002; and
| | 9 | | WHEREAS, The Golden State Warriors entered the playoffs
| | 10 | | with 67 wins and 15 losses, the best record in
basketball for | | 11 | | the 2016-17 season; Andre Iguodala averaged 7.6 points, 3.4 | | 12 | | assists,
four rebounds, and one steal per game throughout the | | 13 | | 2016-17 season; and
| | 14 | | WHEREAS, Andre Iguodala and the Golden State Warriors flew | | 15 | | through the first
three rounds of the playoffs with ease, | | 16 | | winning 12 straight
games and advancing to the NBA finals | | 17 | | without a single playoff
loss; and
| | 18 | | WHEREAS, After Andre Iguodala and his team made it to the | | 19 | | NBA finals,
they continued their streak by winning their first | | 20 | | three games
before losing game four to the Cleveland Cavaliers, | | 21 | | but in doing so,
the Golden State Warriors set the NBA record |

playoffs; and
| | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Golden State Warriors were able to
close out | | 3 | | the series by winning game five in Oakland, California
with the | | 4 | | help of Andre Iguodala scoring his 2017 playoff high 20
points; | | 5 | | and
| | 6 | | WHEREAS, Andre Iguodala's accomplishments include two-time | | 7 | | NBA
Champion, NBA Finals MVP (2015), NBA All-Star (2012), NBA | | 8 | | All-Defensive
First Team (2014), NBA All-Defensive Second Team | | 9 | | (2011), NBA All-Rookie First Team (2005), NBA Rookie Challenge
| | 10 | | MVP (2006), and a Gold Medal at the 2012 London Olympics; | | 11 | | therefore, be it
| | 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | | 13 | | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
| | 14 | | recognize the accomplishments of Andre Iguodala and the Golden
| | 15 | | State Warriors on winning their second NBA championship in | | 16 | | three
years; and be it further
| | 17 | | RESOLVED, That we wish Andre Iguodala and his team many | | 18 | | more years
of success; and be it further
| | 19 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be sent
| | 20 | | to Andre Iguodala and his family as a symbol of our admiration
| | 21 | | for all the work he has done throughout his career.
