HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to recognize Diane Main on her dedication
4and support for the Village of Westmont; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Diane Main has resided in Westmont for 45 years
6and has served Westmont through extensive community
7involvement for four decades; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Diane Main and her husband, Bob, raised their
9three children in Westmont and been active in the lives of
10their seven grandchildren; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Diane Main has served on the Westmont Park Board
12for almost 40 years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, The Westmont Park District has experienced
14tremendous growth during Diane Main's tenure, growing from 32
15acres in 1978 to 137 acres today; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Diane Main played a key role in the development of
17Ty Warner Park, the Twin Lake Golf Course, Twin Lakes Woods,
18the Westmont Skatepark, Ty Warner Splash Park, the Westmont
19Senior Center, and 15 parks throughout Westmont; and

1    WHEREAS, Diane Main has served as a volunteer in the
2community in numerous capacities such as Girl Scout Leader,
3Eucharistic Minister for her Church delivering communion to
4homebound parishioners on weekends, a coordinator for church
5retreats, and more; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Diane Main has served as Park Board Treasurer,
7volunteering her time and talent to lobby for grants for which
8the Park District has received over $3 million in grants from
9the State; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Diane Main has served as the Westmont Park
11District President since 2014; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Diane Main served as President of the Illinois
13Association of Park Districts; therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
15HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
16recognize Diane Main on her dedication and support for the
17Village of Westmont and thank her for her commitment to her
18community; and be it further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to Diane Main as an expression of our esteem and
21respect.
