HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Marquette Catholic High School boys soccer team, the Explorers, on winning the 2017 Illinois High School Association (IHSA) State Class 1A boys soccer title; and

WHEREAS, The Explorers had a 4-3 extra-time win over Monmouth-Roseville to take the state championship title, and scored the winning goal in the 99th minute of the game; and

WHEREAS, This 2017 win marks the fifth state championship in the school's 91-year history; and

WHEREAS, The Explorers are coached by Head Coach, Joe Burchett; and Assistant Coach, Jordan Hogan; and

WHEREAS, The Explorers are Nick Hemann, Joe Guehlstorf, Noah Fahnestock, Nathan Joehl, Drew Whitelaw, Isaac Hendrickson, Noah McClintock, Riley Velloff, Aaron Boulch, Oscar Liu, Kwame Ngwa, Nick LaFata, Chris Hartrich, Kollin Morrissey, Connor Noss, Trenton Dietiker, Justin Atkinson, Jon Lyons, Ben Moehn, Jonah Fahnestock, Will Dixon, Brett Terry, and Luke Atkinson; and

WHEREAS, The Explorers serve as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Marquette Catholic High School boys soccer team, the Explorers, on winning the 2017 Illinois High School Association (IHSA) State Class 1A boys soccer title, and we wish them many more successful seasons; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Marquette Catholic High School Explorers Head Coach Joe Burchett and each member of the team as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
