HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to recognize On Tour Brewing for winning national honors at the 2017 Great American Beer Festival; and

WHEREAS, On Tour Brewing was chosen as the best Very Small Brewing Company and Very Small Brewing Company Brewer of the Year for breweries making fewer than 1,000 barrels; and

WHEREAS, On Tour Brewing owner, Mark Legenza, and brewer, Mark Poffenberger, have invested many years and countless hours in developing their beer styles and perfecting the art of making people happy and giving them a place to enjoy the company of friends; and

WHEREAS, On Tour Brewing was established in January of 2017 and is located in the West Town neighborhood of the City of Chicago; it is an economic anchor of a rapidly developing food and entertainment corridor on West Hubbard Street and the surrounding neighborhoods; and

WHEREAS, Mark Legenza is a third-generation Chicagoan and located the brewery near where his grandparents lived; and

WHEREAS, On Tour Brewing employs 11 full and part-time staff; it has plans to build on its national recognition and continue to its growth and commitment to Illinois beer and the consumers who enjoy it; and

WHEREAS, On Tour Brewing exemplifies the creative nature and industry leadership shown by brewers across the State, where over 180 breweries now call Illinois home and employ 4,500 people directly, contributing $2.6 billion to the State's economy; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate On Tour Brewing for winning national honors at the 2017 Great American Beer Festival and bringing national recognition to its brand and the experience of its customers; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to On Tour Brewing as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
